National Youth Art Month 2016 Competition
CLO: Students will be able to communicate and idea about their state and encompassing the theme "United Through Art" through visual imagery. Students will then be able to critique in order to reflect and revise their work. Students will be able to write an artist statement discussing their concept and process.

CLO: Students will be able to reflect in writing on their process and concept in their personal identity design.
1. Discuss the factors you considered when developing your Flag?
2. Discuss the new skills you learned and how you used them to develop your design.
3. What problems did you run into and how did you solve them?
4. What feed back did you get in the critique and did you choose to incorporate it? Why or why not?
5. What are you trying to communicate with your Flag?
Please write about 2-3 sentences in response to the prompts, utilizing them to guide your writing. I recommend using Word so that you can edit and then just copy and paste into your web page.
Rubric:
Requirements:
- Flag must represent Colorado and Art in some form. NO SPORTS TEAMS!
- Must include the Youth Art Month Logo
- Must be in 12"X20" format at 300DPI resolution
- Students may use a combination of Illustrator and/or photoshop but may only use original or HEAVILY edited photos and in my experience even those

- Symbolism: Using a visual image to represent an idea or concept
- Submission: An entry of artwork into a competition
