Ultimate Music Festival Poster
CLO: Students will be able to design a vector poster that uses visual imagery, text and color to communicate the line up, venue and overall "vibe" of their ultimate music festival. Students will be able to reflect, critique, offer and utilize oral and written feedback for revision. Students will also be able to create a budget based on researching booking fees for specific artists and venues to present in a written financial proposal.
Requirements:
1. Poster must be in Vector Format and be a standard poster size.
2. Poster must reflect the feeling of the type of music that is being presented through visual imagery and color.
3. Poster must demonstrate use of posterization and text warping tools proficiently.

Key Vocabulary
- Vector: Any file created from scratch in Adobe Illustrator
- Posterization: An Image Adjustment in Photoshop that breaks down an image into blocks of color.
- Venue: A location for a concert. (Ex. Red Rocks, Buell Theatre, The Ogden, etc)
- Color (in this project): Used to convey a feeling or genre of music. (Ex. Cool colors might represent a blues festival in order to communicate that the music is soothing, calm and organic. Warm colors might communicate the excitement of a Rock concert by communicating heat, intensity and speed.)
New Tools:
- Pencil Tool: Used in Illustrator to trace out a new shape or block of color from a template.
- Image Adjustments: Used in Photoshop to color correct or posterize. Mainly used on photographs.
New Shortcuts:
- Cmd+Shift+I: In photoshop, used to invert a selection (ex. trace face but then invert selection and delete background.)
- Cmd + Shift+ A: in Illustrator: deselect.
